Fracture Toughness Assessment of 15Kh2NMFA-A Steel Based on Local Fracture Models

Experimental and computational methods to assess the fracture toughness of 15Kh2NMFA-A reactor vessel steel are analyzed based on local models: Rice–Tracey developed in Pisarenko Institute Problems Strength National Academy Sciences Ukraine. The master curve was experimentally constructed, parameters used examined models were obtained. model modification, which takes into account averaging relative void radius vicinity crack tip, extending at each loading step, is shown confirm a previously made assumption as assessment regardless finite element size near tip. Since ductile-brittle transition region, initiation ductile, i.e., through nucleation, growth, coalescence, ductile gained theoretical substantiation demonstrated satisfactory agreement with experimental results.
